Scripture: Psalm 20:1
In times of trouble, may the Lord respond to your cry.
May the God of Israel keep you safe from all harm.
Observation: When you really need it, may the Lord hear you and respond, keeping you safe.
Application: I worry about my personal safety and that of my family more than I probably should. Maybe.
I have heard, yes heard God say to me “I will never let you down.” And yet I still worry.
I wish I could kick Satan out of my head for good.
In times of trouble, the Lord will respond to me and protect me and never let me down. And he has the eternal perspective in mind. So even if things don’t go the way I want them to, or think they should, He will never let me down. He will respond to my cry and keep me safe from harm. And he will for you, too. All ya gotta do is ask.
Prayer: Lord, forgive my fears and my doubts. Take control of my head and my heart and kick Satan’s doubts right out of there. Only you are welcome!
Thank you for this comforting passage. Please help me to remember it when I fear, and also when my friends are hurting. Thank you for responding to our cries.
And please, Lord, can I ask for extra comfort today for those whose loved ones have recently left them to be with you? Give them an extra dose of your love, please. Thank you.
