I’m a girl who can appreciate a hotel’s attention to the extras which make any hotel stay a little better.
This week I’m staying at the Cheyenne Mountain Resort in Colorado Springs for the Savvy Blogging Summit and I can’t help but notice and appreciate all the details that the hotel as provided for its guests in the rooms. Each of these things makes the hotel better for families and better for conference and convention guests.
Lots of outlets
When I travel, I travel with electronics: laptop, phone, camera which might need charging, iPad… you get the picture. When I travel with kids, you add their gadgets on top of mine. I love a hotel where I don’t have to hunt for an outlet. The Cheyenne Mountain Resort has outlets galore, including outlets on the night stand, extra outlets behind the nightstand, outlets hidden on the desk, and outlets on the base of the lamps.
Sink separate from the bathroom
Hotels that place a sink outside of the bathroom make it easy for someone to brush their teeth while someone else is doing other things in the bathroom. Kuddos to those hotels which make it easier for people, and families to share hotel rooms.
Refrigerators
I love the trend of hotels including empty refrigerators in rooms, rather than refrigerators already stocked with items for purchase. Thank you for helping me store my own refreshment choices easily!
Reading lights
Hotels that integrate reading lights in the hotel beds make it easier to turn on a light without disturbing other guests in the room. Sometimes I like to read after the kids bedtime. With integrated reading lights, I can do that without keeping my kids awake.
These are just some of the attention to details I enjoy. What details do you appreciate when you travel?
