Hutton Hotel in Nashville, Tennessee

Heading to Nashville for a grown up weekend? Typically I write about family trips here on MomsTravelTales.com, but…

I just stayed at the Hutton Hotel in the West End of Nashville for Music City Eats, a fantastic food and wine festival, and found it to be a perfect getaway location sans kiddos.

Here are few shots of my room:

The bed was as super comfortable as it looks. I sunk into it each night. Aaaaahhhh.

And the bathroom: (Don’t mind me in the mirror- but check out that cool glass sink and counter!!)

Pretty hip and luxurious, huh?

I’m sorry I didn’t snap a shot of the waterfall shower for you. But what I really liked about the shower was a perfect little ledge for resting my foot while shaving– talk about attention to detail!

Turn down service included a delicious pecan chocolate treat and a bottle of water, which was the perfect Southern touch.

The hotel’s restaurant continues the hip yet luxurious vibe, with interesting new foods to try mixed in with staples. And  the staff? Absolutely friendly and professional. The beverage manager was such a pro that when the bar got hopping Saturday afternoon, he literally rolled up his sleeves and pitched in to help as a bar back… that’s team spirit!

I enjoyed an open-faced crab cake sandwich at the bar Saturday while watching the Florida Gators stomp the Tennessee Volunteers (and everyone was still nice to me). The sandwich rocked and the side salad I enjoyed with it was perfect. (I’m sorry I don’t have a picture to share. I was too busy watching the game to stop for a pic. Please forgive me.)

Sunday morning I had grits, poached eggs and ham for brunch and why yes, I did enjoy that blood orange mimosa. They have this awesome $6 Sparklers and Mary’s cocktail menu on Saturdays and Sundays and I had to take advantage of it.

So sure, the hotel sounds awesome, but is it affordable? Yep. I have to say that the prices were surprisingly less than what I would have expected for such a hotel. Seriously. Check it out.

So where is it?

The Hutton is about a mile walk to downtown… which wasn’t a problem at all. If you don’t want to walk, though, taxis are plentiful in Nasvhville. But there are also great restaurants and places to visit nearby in West End, without a walk all the way into downtown. One place to nearby to check out nearby is Tavern. The fries there are awesome. :) Next time I hope to try the Tennessee style ones— sweet potato fries with brown sugar, sea salt and jalepeno ketchup. Oh yeah….
