I am so stinkin’ sore that I just have to laugh!

I have embarked on a new fitness/ training plan to rock my hiney and legs into shape for the BP MS 150, which is in less than 6 weeks, and also to rock the rest of me into better shape overall using the KettleWorx plan.

I didn’t realize that both overhauls would happen at the same time or that I would feel the effects as much as I am.

But that’s okay because it IS going to be worth it.

Last year’s MS 150 ride was fantastic, and I am determined to have another great ride this year. And I am very  much looking forward to seeing the impact of all that crazy kettleball training.

In the meantime, however, I am one sore momma!

Sunday I biked 47 hilly miles. Monday I cycled for about 45 minutes and it hurt to just sit down on the bike. Yesterday I did my first KettleWorx workout and felt the effects in the afternoon. Today I went to a spinning class and now, well, I just have to laugh because lowering myself into a chair is a challenging exercise. Tonight we are taking the kids to see the Blue Man Group and I am already wondering how I will get out of my chair at the end of the show. Ouch!

I saw my friend who recommended the KettleWorx workout this afternoon and she giggled at me as I awkwardly stepped up the curb onto the sidewalk. And then she shared that after she did the cardio workout for the first time, she just had to lay down in the shower and let the water wash over her because she was so sore and fatigued. That’s what I have on tap for tomorrow morning. Gulp.

But first, I have to make it through tonight. I’m off to stretch and drink some water. And figure out how I can wear some very comfortable shoes to the show.

  1. Keep us updated on the Kettleworx. I’ve have been really curious about it, but I just started a new cardio and don’t want to mix it up quite yet.

  2. best of luck on your bike ride and preparation for it! you’ll do great!
i think i am in a minority, but i have a problem with the fourth word you used in the blog title. i try to not use euphemisms or anything vaguely close to them. i do see this word used a lot lately, but it really upsets me. what do others think about it? am i overly sensitive?

    1. Oh no! I am so sorry about that. I never even thought of it in an offensive way, so I really regret that it struck a nerve with you. Please forgive me.

I will confess though that in some ways I can be quite naive of colloquialisms. My parents even laugh at me about it.

Again, I am sorry. No offense intended.
