Good morning and happy Easter Monday to you, sweet friends!
Today we are launching into a read of the New Testament, every bit of it in just 40 days, and I hope you’ll join me.
As is typical of all the reading groups here on MomsToolbox, I’ve broken down the reading into digestible pieces and formulated a reading plan for us to follow together. I’ll be reading alongside you, sharing observations here and there along the way.
This week we start right at the beginning of Matthew and will continue bit by bit through the end of Revelation by Day 40.
So many people, Christians and non-Christians alike, WANT to read the whole Bible. And so few, comparatively, actually DO it. But YOU can. I’ve already broken it down into easy to follow reading plans. I and the whole MomsToolbox posse will be right here with you, reading, too.
So… Why not start by reading the New Testament first? In just 40 Days, at about 20 minutes a day, you’ll have the whole thing read and will be able to think through for yourself what YOU hear and what YOU think about it.
If you invite a friend or 4 to join you, it will be even easier as you can check in with each other and even chat about things that come up in the reading.
It’s simple. Grab any copy of the New Testament, digital or paper, download the schedule here in MomsToolbox each Monday, read and check off as you go.
If you’re up for an extra step, I typically journal as I read, watching, reading and listening to the Holy Spirit as to what is being shared for me specifically each day. I decipher that by using the SOAP method and record my thoughts in my day planner.
Today Matthew 7:24-25 grabbed me. I can sum up what I heard for me in this:
Don't just listen to what to do, DO THE WORK! (Ouch-- and a great reminder!! No more planning and messing around. DO IT!)
Of course I’d LOVE for you to join me in reading and SOAP’ing… but, really, just the reading is a fantastic place to start.
Ready to jump in?
Here is the New Testament in 40 Days reading schedule for week 1:
Will you join me this time?
I’d love for you to do so. And I’d love for you to let me know you are joining us by leaving a note in the comments.
Hope to see you next week!
In Love,
