Looking for a tool to make dinnertime easier, cheaper and still nutritious?
My friend Jessica’s latest cookbook, Good Cheap Eats: Everyday Dinners and Fantastic Feasts for $10 or Less, hit the stores and the interwebs yesterday and it is chock full of great meal ideas that are just as the title describes: good, cheap eats. Seriously.
I already shared about Good Cheap Eats once on MomsToolbox, when I was encouraging you to pre-order and receive my wine-pairing ebooklet free. You may have missed that opportunity, but if you do get the book, you can see wine pairings for nearly every meal in the book via my free iPhone app, Wine4.Me. Once you’ve told the app a few things you like in wine, click on the Wine & Food circle, click Food and then enter any of Jessica’s main dishes to get a ranked listing of wines that you’ll like with that meal.
Wait. I’m getting ahead of myself. Let me tell you more about the cookbook.
Good Cheap Eats tells you how to prepare more than 200 dishes for your family like:
- Peanut Butter Chicken and Pasta with Sesame Broccoli and Homemade Lemonade
- Cajun Shrimp and Sausage Rice with Buttery Dill Carrots and Banana-Walnut Mini Muffins
- Ale-Braised Pork Roast with Fransconi Potatoes and Maple Fried Apples
- Grilled Cumin Chicken Legs with Sautéed Corn with Thyme and Confetti Rice …and tons more.
Jessica uses real ingredients that you can find at any grocery store and breaks things down into easy steps, so even I can impress my family with delicious meals. (And if I can do it, you certainly can, too!)
You might think I’m just suggesting this cookbook because Jessica is my friend. Please trust me here: I’m not. Her recipes really are awesome. And easy to make. (That last part is critical in my kitchen!)
