I mean, you may have read about my woes in the kitchen, so you know I’ve got a looooooooooonnnnnnnng way to go. But I’m enjoying the ride, that’s for sure.

And, I am oh-so-proud to have provided The Happy Housewife with photos of my very own bread for her blog just this past week, by the way.

(And how that Happy Housewife has changed me! When I went to the grocery store this morning to restock my Ike- ravaged pantry and ‘fridge, did I buy a loaf of bread? NO! Instead I bought yeast to make my own loaf. And I shared it with power-less friends and family over dinner tonight.)

But I’m really digressing here.

I’m writing tonight because Martha Stewart is hosting a blog contest on her blog. And I’m finding that just reading through all those coments, I’m learning about a lot of interesting blogs out there. So go check it out.

    Well, I went to the grocery store yesterday (I was having a small gathering so I HAD to go), and I searched for bread that was whole grain without that enriched stuff. Wow, you’d think that would be easy, but it wasn’t. I finally went to the Publix bakery and a person in the back helped me find my healthy (although not as heathly as THE Happy Housewife’s) bread. AND does ALL milk have sugar???

    I am so impressed that you made your own bread!! I usually am just proud if I get wheat instead of white, haha!

    I tried to join the soap ring…I think everything went through — I hope it did, at least! =D
