Memories to Share is back!
Memories to Share was launched in honor of my grandmother, whom we called Mammy. Mammy passed away in 2013, but she still makes me smile, thinking of the happy memories I have with her and because of a book of written memories she shared with me before she died. I love reading about her childhood adventures in a small town, which were very different from my childhood adventures in a suburb. And I love reading about her adult memories, too.
I never would never have this gift had I not given her a blank book of questions about her life for her to fill out for me. A few friends and I created that initial book of 365 questions for our loved ones. She didn’t fill them all out, but she answered many of the questions. Since her passing, I pared the idea down to weekly questions instead of daily, and now I am sharing this with you so you can ask a loved one to fill his or her own book out, or you can fill one out and gift it to your children, grandchildren or whomever might be especially interested in reading your stories. (I have no doubt there are many who would love to read your stories, no matter what you think your writing ability is.)
Mammy’s birthday is coming up on March 2, so this is the perfect time for me to give this gift back to you in her honor, and for you to give it to someone else.
Each month I will be sharing a list of writing prompts for you to download, print and fill out, then slip into a binder for someone special… and that someone special can even be you.
I hope you enjoy these simple, yet meaningful journaling prompts. And I hope they are enjoyed for generations to come.
