Mother’s Day Giveaway: Girlfriends, Giggles and God

Photobucket

You know how it feels when you are reading along about someone else’s adventures in mothering,  nodding, laughing out loud, and feeling like you totally get someone and what she is writing… and then she zings you with a fantastic, Biblical lesson?

A friend of mine, Dallas Louis, wrote Girlfriends, Giggles and God, a one-month devotional, and her book is just like that. She writes about the stuff mothers of young children face, and then she brings it all back home with a great lesson which came straight out of the Bible.

In honor of Mother’s Day, Dallas has agreed to give me two copies of her devotional to give away to one lucky winner: One for the winner to keep, and one for her to give away as a gift this Mother’s Day.

You can enter to win any one or all three ways:

  • Leaving a comment on this post sharing one silly and/ or meaningful mom moment.
  • Liking this post on Facebook using the icon below.
  • Tweeting about this post on Twitter using the #MothersDay hashtag.

The contest ends Tuesday at 6 CST so Dallas can get the books in the mail to our winner in time for Mother’s Day.

Happy Mother’s Day and good luck!

I am not being compensated in any way for this giveaway. The link to her book on Amazon.com is not an affiliate link.

I have 2 little boys who are 13 months apart. They are 2 and 3 years old. Most days can be very long and stressful, but my absolute favorite time of the day is cuddling with them at the end of the day while tucking them into bed. It’s the time where all craziness, stress, and regrets of the day fade away and we just get to enjoy each other!! That is one of my favorite times as a mommy!!

  2. I am always telling my overly dramatic daughter to “calm down” and the other day I got cut off by a driver and started yelling and fussing. She quickly piped up from the backseat, “Calm down, Mommy!” Of course I was even more enraged by her comment but had to admit she was right.

  3. Last year was my first “real” mothers day as a mother. I know how hard it is to be a mother without a baby, so last year was so special for me. Now everytime she come up and gives me a hug or pats my back while I’m holding her I just cherish, I know that this sweetness will turn into a teenager sooner than I want

My 11-year-old son is wonderfully wild, all boy, and incredibly self-sufficient. And yet, I so dearly cherish that my 5th grader continues to give me a kiss at the car before he boards with school bus each morning. How great is that!

  5. I love how my six year old daughter will come and ask me to help her wrap up a present. She has me hold the present, fold the edges in, put on the bows, etc. Then–when it is all wrapped, she tells me “O.K., now forget what you saw!” and then gives the present to me! How sweet that she wants it to be wrapped as nicely as possible, even if it is something as simple as a drawing she made for me. :)

  6. Silly mom moment: when my husband was deployed and I foolishly went to the bathroom only to come out and find my 3 oldest kids on the couch watching TV and my 3 year old twins standing between the couch and the TV playing dodgeball…with tomatoes. That prompted my saying that if you’re going to laugh about it some day, may as well start today. Meaningful moment: when my son told me that when he gets his driver’s license he’ll miss all the time he gets to spend in the car talking with me.

  7. With my children in school and activities, we have many opportunities for meaningful moments. I would have to say that when I see them together on school activities it is very special. I am so proud of them working together.

My 4 year old son accepted Christ this fall. It was amazing… yet at the same time completely normal. I was a little bit concerned at the fact that he wasn’t understanding how huge his decision was– until I realized that a life that trusts Jesus is normal for him! He sees it in us (almost) every day! It was an awesome testimony to how a family tree can change directions completely! Now he goes around at family events asking people if they know about Jesus!
