Anyone up for joining me in some engaging and just plain fun conversations about wine… perhaps while tasting the wine?
I’ve got ya covered.
You might know of VineSleuth, my startup where we use flavor data to recommend wine and beers through software– like a personal digital sommelier. Well, with all the COVID-19 lock downs, I had to shift some gears, as the wineries where we had launched (and the bars where we were about to launch) had to revaluate using communal iPad menus, and the like.
And sooooo, about 3 weeks ago I launched Wine4Me… @Home, a new YouTube channel where I interview some of my favorite winery owners, winemakers and other wine peeps. A new interview drops every Thursday… or Thirsty Thursday if you’re feeling sassy.
Here’s quick overview of what I’ve shared so far:
This week I shared my conversations with a true trailblazer for women in wine, and for the wine industry in general. Michaela Rodeno owns Villa Ragazzi in the Napa Valley. She was the first to bring Sangiovese to Napa… and as co-founder of Women for WineSense, she was also instrumental in the 60 Minutes show in 1991 that shared the “French Paradox,” or health benefits from red wine.
The week before that I spoke with Fox Run Co-owner Scott Osborn, who moved from California to New York to work in wine. We tasted 2 Chardonnays, a Reserve Riesling and a Lemberger. Scott shared one of his favorite dishes to serve… that is also super simple to make. SCORE!
In my first episode, I got to taste wines with Master Sommelier Guy Stout of Stout Family Wines and hear decades of stories, from when Guy was a busboy and intrigued by the wood-burned wine boxes to now, where he is true expert on wines…. and gracious hospitality.
I hope you’ll pop over and check out the Wine4Me… @ Home channel. And give me some likes while you’re there, too, if you enjoy them.
PS: If you visit any of the winery websites featured on my channel and use the code Wine4Me when purchasing wine, they will send you a wine tasting pack with a tasting placemat, recipes and the like to make tasting even more fun. (The kit is from me. )
Thanks, friends. I do hope you enjoy! I am enjoying putting them together, for sure.
Cheers,
