Hi Ultimate Blog Partiers… I am so glad you could swing by!
I’m your hostess, Amy, and I love traveling… with my kids, with my husband and sometimes even by myself (that last one doesn’t happen too often!).
My husband and I have three young children, now four, six and eight years old and one teenager living with us as a foreign-exchange student. We have traveled near and far with our kids on planes, trains, boats and automobiles. The earliest our children had a passport was at three months of age and one of our boys has already had to get his second one. (Kids need new passports after five years, whereas adults only every 10 years.)
But we are not all about international travel, domestic travel, luxury travel or just low-key travel… we like to do it all. We have taken short road-trips, long road-trips, stayed at some pretty luxurious, beautiful places and plenty of modest places that also suited us perfectly.
This year our family (either all of us or some of us) have visited Florida and DisneyWorld, Tennessee, California and DisneyLand, Bastrop, Texas, been camping, and cruised to Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlan and Puerta Vallarta. The year still holds trips to South Africa, Dubai, Vermont, Orlando again, St. Louis, Pennsylvania and 2 moms and kids trips still to be determined.
So, as you can tell, travel is a way of life for us. My husband once told me he sees an airplane like a time machine. Once the door opens, you get to explore new places, meet new people and experience things you may not get to experience at home.
I started writing about our travels because so many friends, and friends of friends, asked for advice for their own trips, whether it be how-to tips or suggestions of where to go. And then a friend of mine even asked me to share a few tips on her television show to help her viewers get ready for holiday travel. (Soon I’ll have a regular segment on that show!)
I started posting my stories on my other blog, MomsToolbox, but decided to launch MomsTravelTales last summer because I felt like the travel stories were getting lost and I wanted them to be easy to find. I’m still in the process of moving those stories over here.
I plan to continue chronicling our journeys here and hope to work backwards, too, writing about some of our favorite trips from the past.
And I hope to engage you, my readers, much more in the future. I’d love to know what you would like to know and where you would like to know about. I’d also love to hear about your hometowns and the fun things to do there, too. If you’d like to help out with those features, please let me know.
Thanks, again for clicking by, whether you were part of the Ultimate Blog Party or not.
Before you go, won’t you tell me one favorite destination you’ve visited and one other place you’d like to visit? I’d love to know!
