Scripture: 1 Corinthians 13:7
It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Observation: In the verse, “it” refers to love. Love is strong and will offer protection, truth, and hope.
Application: In 1 John 4:16 we are told that God is love. So often I’ve heard this verse, especially at weddings, and thought of my husband. But this love refers to all true love. And if God is love, than this is a reminder of the protection, hope and strength we can find in him. And that is perfect love, whereas other love may strive for perfection, yet is still broken. God’s love is something we can count on no matter what.
Prayer: Lord, thank you for your perfect, undying love for me. Please guide me. And fill our nation with your love and hope right now. We stand and wait… wondering what the next steps will be. Calm our hearts. Lead us on your path. Strengthen the believers to point the way toward you. And keep showering us with your perfect love. In you, we will find peace. And in you we will find strength. Draw us to you, Lord, and fill us with your love.
