Good morning and welcome to our first day of praying for our children together. I’m glad you are here, reading and praying with me.
If you are reading and praying along using Stormie Omartian’s The Power of a Praying Parent, our reading today is just the foreword and introduction.
She opens the book with this beauiuful verse from Lamentations:
“Pour out your heart like water before the face of the Lord.
Lift your hands toward Him for the life of your young children.”
–Lamentations 2:19
Pour out your heart
No matter the age of our children, let’s do that, shall we? He wants to hear our longings, our desires, our hopes dreams and even, yes our fears. Pour your heart out like water to Him. He is there for each of us, and for our children. We are his children, after all.
How will you record your prayers and thoughts?
I am excited for our prayer time together these next few weeks. I am journaling my prayers and I would like to encourage you to find a way to record scripture and other thoughts that stand out to you as we pray along. I would also like to encourage you to record your prayers so you can reflect back and see how they are answered.
Praying for our time in prayer
I have a feeling we are in for some mighty answers and growth. Why don’t you pray about all that today as we begin? Ask His direction. Pour out your heart like water.
He is listening.
I’m so glad you are here, praying with me!
