Good morning from Savannah, Georgia. That’s the view from my prayer perch in my hotel room this morning. I LOVE the trees!!
I’m here dropping off our oldest for a high school program at Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). Yesterday was his first day and I am convinced that he is going to have an exciting, enriching week.
Today’s prayer from The Power of a Praying Parent was especially timely. In chapter 8, I read about praying for godly friends and role models for our children. As my oldest begins this week, of course I was already praying for him to be connected with friends that would be good for him in many ways.. and he, too, would be equally as positive in their lives. Of course I don’t want him to be lonely or start negative relationships… and neither does Our Father. Asking Him to lead is such a natural thing to do. Reading the chapter encouraged me and made me think about it even more.
In case you missed the first post on praying for our children, or need a refresher for this week, here is our reading and prayer schedule for this week:
MON 7/30 8. Attracting Godly Friends and Role ModelsTUES 7/31 9. Developing a Hunger for the Things of GodWEDS 8/1 10. Being the Person God CreatedTHURS 8/2 11. Following Truth, Rejecting LiesFRI 8/3 12. Enjoying a Life of Health and HealingSAT & SUN: review
Of course you may add other prayers as you wish. Reading and praying this way has helped me pray for so many more things actively and I’ve really enjoyed my conversations.
I am glad you are joining me in praying for our children. I hope you are seeing some beautiful changes and influences through your time in prayer. Although my children have been away from me for most of the days I have been praying through this, I still feel closer to them and encouraged for their growth. I pray the same is for you, whether your kids are near or far.
Thanks for joining me!
