Happy Friday to you. I’m on my way to the airport after a quick stay in New York City, posting from the car.
I hope your week has gone well and you have a great weekend planned. I’m certainly looking forward to spending some time with my family before my next journey.
I read the passage this morning just as I woke up and have been thinking about it for a bit. It took awhile for me to hear which verse I should feature.
Here is what grabbed me in Psalm 44, using SOAP:
Scripture: Psalm 44:1
O God, we have heard with our ears,
our fathers have told us,
what deeds you performed in their days,
in the days of old.
Observation:
We know what you have done in the past because we have been told.
Application:
The Psalmist is frustrated. He is feeling despair and doesn’t see God’s hand in his life.
He knows of God’s strength and provision in the past, however, because he was told by those who came before him.
This is a great reminder to me to share of His provision, to tell how He has guided me. These stories will carry those who need it when they don’t see God for themselves.
Prayer:
Lord, thank you for this reminder to be a beacon of your love and provision to those around me and those who come after me. I want them to know of your strength and love. I want them to know you are there even when they don’t see you. Thank you for your provision.
