Good morning.
I’ve been struggling with SOAP lately, reading each morning, but not knowing where to begin in posting. I hope to post more regularly once again very soon. Please bear with me.
Thank you to so many of you who have been praying for me. I really appreciate it. Things are on a better track, but still difficult. I am in a bit of a fog, but plugging on.
I’m still making my way through Fervent by Priscilla Shirer and I highly recommend it as a guide to battling with prayer.
Here’s what grabbed me in Psalm 68 when applying SOAP:
Scripture: Psalm 68: 35
Awesome is God from his sanctuary;
the God of Israel- he is the one who
gives power and strength to his people.
Blessed be God.
Observation:
The entire Psalm talks about His power. This last verse just sums it up: He is mighty and lends his strength to those who are on His team.
Application:
My observation might sound trite, but it is not meant to be.
God is super powerful. He will overcome evil. He will take those who are His with Him into victory.
This verse made me think about world events like the terror in Paris and it made me think of hyper local events, like what has been going on within my family. It reassured me of who will ultimately win and how much love He has for us. He is awesome and He gives power and strength to his family. We need to recognize that and lean on that in order to accept that.
Prayer:
Oh, Father, you are almighty and strong. When things get scary, it is easy for Satan to slip in and try to shake us up. But I know who You are and I know who he is. And I know he is a liar and that You are not. You represent truth and love and want to strengthen us while he wants to break us down.
Thank you, Lord, for this reminder of your awesome power and your reminder that you will share that power and strength with those that are yours.
I need your supernatural strength. I am weary. I don’t want to be weary. I know I am not alone in that. Please, Lord, help those who are weary to receive your strength and recognize it as yours. Help us to take the right next steps, following your path for us. You have great things planned for each of us. Guide us in following You and the path you have set for us and keep us from distraction and weariness from evil.
Thank you, Lord, for hearing my prayer and for loving and supporting me.
Amen.
