Day 3 of 60 Days of Psalms
Today’s reading: Psalms 7-8
Scripture: Psalms 7:9
O righteous God,
Who searches mind and hearts,
Bring to an end to the violence of the wicked and make the righteous secure.
Observation: Lord who is pure, who knows all of our true intentions and desires, please end evil ways and protect those who are made pure by their trust in you.
Application: I am glad I am made righteous by my trust and faith in Jesus Christ and his death on the cross. In all honesty, without that, my sin is no different than anyone else’s. But since I am forgiven, I try to live my life in thanks and the Lord deems me righteous through my faith and love of Him.
I want the violence of the wicked to end. It scares me. I hate that I am held captive by that fear way too often.
Prayer: Lord, thank you for your love and forgiveness. Thank you for sending your son to die for me and my sin so that I may be made righteous. Please, Lord, bring an end to the violence of the world and make the righteous secure. Use those of us who know you to share you with those who do not so that there will be less and less evil in the world and you will reign sooner rather than later. Thank you, Lord.
