Day 7 of the Psalms in 60 Days
Today’s Reading: Psalm 18
Scripture: Psalms 18:32
It is God who arms me with strength
and makes my way perfect.
Observation: I don’t build up true strength on my own… it comes from God. He alone can strengthen me and make my walk flawless.
Application: If I want to have true strength, then I need to be sure to seek God first and seek his guidance and refinement.
Following worldly ambitions might bring me pleasure and satisfaction, but only for a little while. Seeking God’s will instead will give me true strength to last for all time.
Prayer: Lord, thank you for this reminder that true strength comes from you. I cannot grow it without you. I can learn new things and practice skills, but without you, those skills and lessons will be meaningless in the long run. Those skills and any of the good things I do will not get me anywhere eternally. It is your love, sacrifice and forgiveness alone that perfects my walk and will allow me to spend eternity with you. Thank you, Lord, for that.
Tomorrow’s Reading: Psalms 19- 21
