Day 18 of the Psalms in 60 Days
Today’s Reading: Psalms 42-44
Scripture: Psalm 43:3
Send forth your light and truth,
let them guide me;
let them bring me to your holy mountain,
to the place where you dwell.
Observation: Please give me the direction I need, Lord, to grow closer to you.
Application: Way too often I feel overwhelmed by all the things I think I need to do. This gets me frustrated and sometimes I lose even the focus of where to start.
I don’t think that is what God wants for me. I bet He has a pretty clear path that I tend to jumble up with too many distractions.
I want God’s direction on what to do and when to do it. I may want to do 100 things, but He alone knows what I should really do and when. His direction will guide me to the right tasks and the peace in following Him.
Prayer: Lord, I am seeking your light and truth. Enlighten me so that I will follow the path you have cleared for me already. Show me what to drop and how to drop those things. Show me what you want me to do, what I need to do and guide me in completing those things to your glory.
Thank you for the gifts and opportunities you have shared with me. Please give me better discernment in determining what is for your glory (and how even the seemingly mundane can be used for your glory) and then give me the courage to seek those items and say no to the rest.
I need you, Lord, to direct my path. Please help! Thank you!
