Reaching to those who don’t know Him. Romans 15:14-33

Today’s Reading: Romans 15: 14-33

Here’s what grabbed me…

Scripture: Romans 15: 20

It has always been my ambition to preach the gospel where Christ was not known, so that I would not be building on someone else’s foundation.

Observation:

Paul wanted to reach out to those who did not know Christ, rather than those who already had a foundation.

Application:

I also have a desire to reach out to those who do not know Christ, or those who may have been flirting with the idea of Christ throughout their lives, but have been unable to make the leap into faith.

I want to answer questions for those who are afraid to ask, and encourage those with questions to pray through them and come to the answers on their own. So often I think people are afraid to ask because they think they might be judged or railroaded with information. I once felt that way myself.

I want to be the safe place to ask questions and then do my best to encourage others to seek the answers by reading the Bible, praying (even if they think they don’t know how) and listening to what they hear in the words there, as well as the stirrings in their heart that come from that.

I worry that MomsToolbox appears too intimidating to receive and welcome those who are just  like I was before I grew in my confidence to share my devotions.

Is it a comfortable place for those who have not accepted Christ? I want it to be. But only comfortable enough to encourage growth.

Prayer:

Lord, please guide me in my use of the gifts you have trusted in me. Help me to reach those you intend for me to reach. Show me what paths to take and changes to make. Show me the changes I need to make in my own life and bring to me those whom you trust me to mentor. Please, also Lord, bring me mentors so that I can learn and grow in the way you intend. Sometimes I feel so lonely in my walk. And yet I so often feel overwhelmed with excitement, too.

Please, Lord, guide me in serving you. Guide me in reaching to those who don’t know you. Guide me in encouraging them to grow.

Thank you, Lord.

What about you:

What stood out to you in today’s reading? And do you feel led to help others know Christ or to know Christ better? Please tell me your thoughts on that.

  1. It’s amazing, I don’t think you realzie how empty your life is before Christ, but you sense there’s something more! I think I would have a lot less friends if it weren’t for my walk…relationships take work AND forgiveness too…still working on that process!
