Rotating Children’s Chores

My friend Connie, who blogs over at Smockity Frocks, is not only a riot, but she has like a bajillion fantastic ideas when it comes to family and kid stuff. Plus, you might remember her from my OOPS! Flourless Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookie almost-debacle

Anyhow… This week she shared a fantastic and revolutionary idea for rotating and sharing chores on her blog. (She has 8 children, so there is no doubt she has more experience than I do in that area… or at least I hope she does!) Head on over there and check it out. I bet you’ll marvel over her ingenuity, yet simplicity. (And then maybe you’ll get all my circular humor, too.)

Then, after you see her idea, come back here and let me know how YOU rotate YOUR kids chores… or even how you track them. I’d love to hear your ideas!

  1. Our little family of 2 just does chores together as needed, but it would be a great way to choose centers or activities with my 20 first-graders at school. They would feel a little control by cranking it around, and I wouldn’t be the bad guy when it lands on something they don’t prefer. Thanks for sharing the idea!

  2. Thanks for linking, Amy! If you ask me those fancy magnetic chore charts have too many parts to keep up with! Give me 2 paper plates and a Sharpie and I’m all set!
