One of my favorite easy-peasy and delicious restaurants for the family, Smashburger, is offering something new and delicious to help battle breast cancer.
Sip a raspberry milkshake this October at any Smashburger location and forty cents will be donated to Susan G. Komen to help end breast cancer, with Smashburger committing to a minimum donation of $25,000 in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
“Komen has made it their mission to work hard every day towards discovering and delivering the cures for breast cancer and we are pleased to help support this important cause,” said Dave Prokupek, CEO and Chairman of Smashburger. “Our Häagen-Dazs shakes are a favorite among customers at Smashburger and now guests can enjoy our delicious limited time Raspberry Sorbet Shake while making a contribution to a great organization.”
Umm, yes, every shake I’ve ever had at Smashburger has been awesome– maybe a little too awesome! But this month I can sip (kind of) guilt free.
In support of the limited-time promotion, all Smashburger employees will wear a Komen pin in honor of Komen’s mission to save lives and end breast cancer forever. Each Raspberry Sorbet Shake is served with a matching pink straw and customers have the opportunity to make their own donation to Komen online at www.komen.org/smashburger.
My daughter, who fortunately hasn’t experienced the horror of watching a friend or loved one battle breast cancer, (or at least she didn’t quite realize it) would just love the pink-ness of the shake and straw because it’s fun. I love that it reminds us to honor those who have fought and are still fighting.
