Scripture: Luke 16: 9
I tell you, use your worldly resources to benefit others and make friends. In this way, your generosity stores up a reward for you in heaven.
Observation: Use what you have on earth (both things and intellect) to help those around you, not just yourself, and you will be rewarded in heaven.
Application: What gifts do I have that I can offer those around me? How can I use the gifts given me to grow them and share with others? What has God loaned to me to give away? I think this is about much more than tithing. It is about individual gifts on all sorts of levels.
Prayer: Lord, please continue to guide me in sharing your love with those near and far. You know the treasures you have loaned me that belong to others. Please help me to pass them along so that your kingdom will grow and you will be glorified. Keep me from being selfish and storing up my talents just for me and my family. Guide me in giving the way you would have me give.
