Do you dig peanut butter and love to save money, too?
In celebration of National Peanut Month this March, the Southern Peanut Growers organization is launching its third annual “PB my way” recipe contest, with the winner taking home a $500 Visa® gift card… and that will buy a LOT of peanut butter! Plus, for every recipe entered, the Southern Peanut Growers will donate a jar of peanut butter to hunger relief organization Feeding America.
I have to be honest here… reading the information about the contest made me hungry for peanut butter myself. You can see what’s left of the peanut butter and honey sandwich I made for myself when I sat down to share this with you:
I stay pretty basic with my peanut butter, but what about you? Are you up for creating and sharing a low-cost way for others to get their nutrition on? And have you seen this Peanut Butter Breakfast Bread Pudding?!?
The Southern Peanut Growers peeps told me peanut butter is super-budget friendly, ringing up at about 20 cents per serving. But I’m not sure they know how much peanut butter I eat in one serving… I slather it on an english muffin and add honey and bananas before each of my MS 150 cycling training rides! And I’m extra-generous with how much I use.
