Scripture: Acts 28:30-31
For the next two years, Paul lived in his own rented house. He welcomed all who visited him, proclaiming the kingdom of God with all boldness and teaching about the Lord Jesus Christ. And no one tried to stop him.
Observation: During this time, Paul was still under guard awaiting trial in Rome. Yet through all of his captivity he continued to praise God and share the news of the risen Messiah.
Application: Paul had lots of ‘excuses’ to grumble, complain and wonder where God was… He had been awaiting trial and shuffled from place to place for quite some time. Instead, Paul served his captors humbly and continued to share the good news.
Prayer: Lord, my life and circumstances are so much simpler and easier than Paul’s. Forgive me when I grumble. And thank you for the opportunity to learn more about you and share about you without fear of punishment. Please help me and others to keep it that way in America and make the changes we should in other parts of the world as directed by you.
