Scripture: Proverbs 28:13
He who conceals his sins does not prosper,
but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy.
Observation: Admit your sins to God and make steps toward improvement and you will be met with mercy.
Application: It’s one thing to say you’re sorry and keep making the same mistake. It’s another for your apology to be genuine and to work toward changing the sinful behavior. God wants us to realize the error in our ways and turn from sin, not hide the sin.
He sent his son to die for our sins. Is it asking too much for us to admit them and make genuine efforts at change?
Prayer: Lord, we all have sin in our lives. Thank you for your son who paid the price for my sin.
Please guide me in admitting my faults and then actively working to change them rather than just complain about them.
Help me to take action and make the changes you know I need to make so that I can honor you and not grumble and procrastinate so much.
I want to be a better servant. Please forgive my selfishness and grumbling. Replace my grumbling with praise and my procrastination with action… action that actually gets the needed jobs done.
Thank you, Lord, for your faithfulness and forgiveness. With you, my heart will be changed.
