Scripture: Esther 10: 3
Mordecai the Jew was second in rank to King Xerxes, preeminent among the Jews, and held in high esteem by his many fellow Jews, because he worked for the good of his people and spoke up for the welfare of all the Jews.
Observation: Mordecai stood for what was right and what the Lord instructed, even when it could have brought him worldly defeat. As a result of his discipline, he was revered.
Application: The story in Esther tells so much about bravery in doing the right thing and standing up for what you know to be right.
I hope I can use these examples set by Esther and Mordecai to stand firm in my knowledge of the truth in Christ’s love.
Prayer: Lord, thank you for the many examples throughout the Bible of those that followed you and were rewarded even here on earth. I can only imagine what rewards also met them eternally!
When I might be wavering in action (or inaction) please remind me once of again of Esther and of Mordecai and of your eternal love. Keep guiding me to stand strong for you alone. Guide me in always doing the right thing for the right reasons.
PS: If you are joining me in daily prayer for your husband, today we are praying about his temptations.
