SOAP: God’s Word will reach more when we work together

Scripture: 2 Corinthians 10:15-16

15Nor do we claim credit for the work someone has done. Instead we hope that your faith will grow and that our work among you will be greatly enlarged. 16Then we will be able to go and preach the Good News in other places that are far beyond you, where no one else is working. Then there will be no questions about being in someone else’s territory.

Observation: This passage is shared in the context of boasting, but I think it also touches on working together to broaden the reach of God’s word and message.

By working together, and giving God the glory not individuals, people can take the Word of God to many more than if they just work alone (and have the desire to take solo credit for such work.)

Application: It is interesting, although it shouldn’t be surprising, that I came across this today.

Right now I am in the midst of planning a blog promotion to help people read the whole Bible, cover to cover, in 90 days beginning January 1 using the Bible in 90 Days curriculum.

I would love for other bloggers to go and share this program in places far beyond where I have reach. And then, once more have read the Word, the Word will likely then go and be shared far beyond our collective reach, to even more places.

Only God could orchestrate such a plan. But I can listen and be used appropriately.

Prayer: Lord, you are amazing. And you never fail to show me that in big and little ways.

Please let me hear your guidance on this promotion. Bring me the bloggers you want me to work with. Show us the best way to share the promotion and share your Word… all of it. And bring those who are seeking your Word, or just have questions, to us so we may point to you.
