Um, WOW.
I sure needed to read and write this one today.
Parenting is tough. Last night we had some struggles. I post my SOAP index cards in the kitchen after I share them with you and yesterday I kept looking at the day’s index card as I was making my way through parts of it, praying, hoping, trying to be patient and calm.
And then today this beauty was sent to me.
God amazes me.
I love how He shares with us when we seek Him and I love what I hear as I SOAP.
So let’s get on with it, shall we?
and, oops– sorry about that misspelling of Isaiah up there. (Isn’t forgiveness great?!)
Scripture:
“Fear not
for I am with you.
I am your God.
I will help you and strengthen you
and hold you up.”
–Isaiah 41:10
Observation:
I am your God and I will help you. I’ve got you, so don’t fear.
Application:
He HAS us.
Just as we are His, He is ours to call on in times of trouble. He has more strength and understanding than we can even imagine— and it’s all there for us as His children.
You know what? There are times that I could really use someone to hold me up and strengthen me.
Life has battles in it– and these battles can sure wear me out, even with a rock solid spouse. Sometimes those battles take the wind out of both of our sails.
I love this reminder to lean on the strongest one… because He is ours for the leaning.
Prayer:
Father God, I need you, I need your strength to help me and strengthen me and hold me up.
This verse is so reassuring to me and your timing is perfect. Why this surprises me, I don’t know. I should know by now that you will give me what I need as I need it.
Reading and writing it out this morning was perfect.
Thank you, God.
I love you.
A few things to think about…
Where do you go when you’re weary?
Do you believe he can strengthen you?
Has He?
