I hope you are enjoying our journey through Psalm 121 as much as I am. Going through it backwards has made it interesting for me, as the verses are unwrapping in a different way. I know it’s the best way to memorize, but I’m still deciding if it is the right way to study. Either way, I like what’s in store for us today. And I’m not sure if it would have struck me as much had I been working top to bottom.
Scripture: Psalm 121:5
The Lord watches over you–
the Lord is your shade at your right hand.
Observation:
He will keep watch and shield you from harm
Application:
I love this analogy! I love the image of the sun beating down on me and God reaching out to keep me cool in all of heat… while still allowing me to see the beauty and growth the sunshine brings.
Prayer:
Lord, thank you so much for your gift of protection in the heat of life on earth– the stress and tribulations. Thank you for being my shade when I need you and my encourager always. I love you. Thank you for this gift today. I absolutely love how you’ve shared this with me. And I love to be back in the swing of SOAP. I missed it!
Scripture Memorization:
If you are memorizing this Psalm along with me, here is what you should be working on today:
Psalm 121: 5-8
The Lord watches over you–
the Lord is your shade at your right hand;
the sun will not harm you by day,
nor the moon by night.
The Lord will keep you from all harm–
he will watch over your coming and going
both now and forevermore.
What did today’s verse say to you? I’d love to hear in the comments. :)
