Scripture: Today’s reading is Nehemiah 9-10 and Acts 2
Observation: Today I cannot come up with one verse or short passage that I feel is speaking directly to me.
In the Nehemiah reading, the Lord tells us of a time when the people recognized their wrongdoing and how their lives had strayed from God’s thinking. Together they made changes and went back to worshipping the Lord as He had intended.
In Acts we learn of when the Holy Spirit descended on the people at Pentecost and a message of repentance was also shared.
Application: God wants us to turn from our evil ways and re-prioritize so that He is at the top. I believe He is also saying here that we can make that change, that past mistakes are just that: past.
It is time to move forward with a new devotion to Christ and let the past mistakes go.
Prayer: Lord, thank you for your forgiveness. Thank you for allowing us to make mistake after mistake after mistake and still be surrounded by your love and forgiveness, should we decide to accept it and repent.
Please guide all those that need to hear that message to hear it, embrace it and move forward in love.
Help us to re-align our lives daily so that we look past the past mistakes and focus instead on your forgiveness and serving you in the present and future.
PS: If you are joining me as a Praying Wife and praying daily for your husband, today we are praying for our husband’s trials.
