SOAP: Please don’t let me mislead

Scripture: Psalm 69: 5-6 (partial)

5O God, you know how foolish I am;

My sins cannot be hidden from you.

6.Don’t let hose who trust in you stumble because of me,

O Sovereign Lord Almighty.

Observation: You know the true me and all the mistakes I make. Please do not allow me to cause others to fall away from you.

Application: I am most certainly a sinner. I make lots of mistakes. But I do try to live as I believe my Father would want me to live. And yet I certainly fall short.

Sometimes I worry that my blogging mistakes might cause others to fall short of God’s plan.  I worry that what I think I hear when praying about a SOAP post may not come out or be translated for others in a way that God would intend. So this prayer is very real for me. I never want to cause another to fall short. I never want to mislead. I hope that my honest questions and observations will cause prayerful discussion.

Prayer: Lord, please continue to guide me in hearing your messages for me through my Bible study and SOAP discoveries. Please allow me to hear what messages you have for me. And please guide those who read my SOAP posts to hear what you have for them, as well. Do not allow me to cause anyone to stumble, but instead to want to delve into Your Word with You. Thank you for this opportunity to learn, grow and serve.

  1. This is so true! And it’s a little nerve-wracking that people are always watching you — friends, family, students, children…I don’t want to mess up and make them think that THAT’S how a Christian is supposed to act, but I mess up so much…

  2. Love that post……

    I, also, love sharing my love of God and His teachings on my blog, and truly hope that it will only draw people closer to Him and look forward to learning more and more….

    May the Lord bestow upon you the grace to inspire and teach His Word as He intends….Amen….

  3. Great post! I know I don’t ever want to be the one to make someone stumble either. Our walk needs to be consistent online and offline.

    Have a great day!
