SCRIPTURE:
“Seek first His kingdom,
and everything else will be given to you.”
–Matthew 6:33
OBSERVATION:
Set your top priority, pursue it and the other good stuff will happen.
APPLICATION:
First of all, I am NOT saying that if you love Jesus and serve Him you will make tons of money and be successful in worldly standards, getting everything you want. And I don’t think that is what Matthew was saying here, either.
Alright. Now with that being clear, here is what I AM saying:
I have found that when I do heed this wisdom, and when I do focus on God first, then listen, like really ask and listen, I DO find my way much, MUCH better than when I jump into things.
It always amazes me that when I really take the time to journal (which is how I pray best), I see incredible results. But, seriously, why should this amaze me? If I ASK him, He WILL guide me.
Success may not be exactly as I had in mind. It might be something very different. And it might not come on my time table. (It rarely does.) But HE HAS ME.
I have found that setting priorities properly, first, and then asking Him for guidance and acting in accordance with those priorities is definitely the way to go. Plus, when you know your priorities are right, and you are acting on them appropriately, it sure helps in dealing with disturbances in the force. And that is so often needed.
PRAYER:
Oh, Father God, thanks s much for this reminder. And thank you for calling me to you each morning. I am really enjoying our time together and the way it is carrying throughout the day with my little index cards and marker art. Thank you. Thank you for reminding me of my priorities and for meeting me right there with them. I love you. This is GREAT stuff! Thank you so so much.
A few things to think about…
What about you?
You’re here now, so this says to me that you ARE seeking Him. And that’s pretty awesome.
Have you talked to him about that?
Do you seek Him first?
When you do, can you tell a difference?
Thanks so much for SOAPing up with me today! This has been a blast. I hope that you are enjoying it, as well.
