I hope you are enjoying this read through the Proverbs in 31 Days with me here on MomsToolbox.
Today (Friday) our reading is Proverbs 4.
Here is what I heard in the reading by using the SOAP format:
Scripture: Proverbs 4: 25
Let your eyes look straight ahead,
fix your gaze directly before you.
Observation:
Look ahead at what is next.
Application:
I think I could easily add “and do not get distracted” to my observation sentence.
I allow myself to become distracted in so many ways all too often. Even in opening my computer to write this, I had to struggle to not peek at my email or click on something else or just pop in and order that winter coat I need to order later today.
If I would just focus on the tasks at hand, I know life would be calmer and just, well, better.
Instead of focusing, though, I bounce from here to there, trying to cram more in than I should.
I need focus. I need His focus.
Prayer:
Lord, you know how I struggle with distractions and wanting to do ‘just one more thing.’
Please show me the way to more clarity. Show me the way to figure out just what to do. Please, Lord, help me to seek you in setting my path and please guide me in staying on that path, fixing my gaze on what you have for me and not being distracted by so many other, less fruitful, things.
I want to look straight ahead, fixing my eyes on you and your plan for me. Please help me to do just that.
How about you?
How do you stay focused? (I’d love your tips!!)
