I tweeted about this today, but I think the message needs more permanence than a tweet.
This morning my kids and I headed out of the house a little early and stopped at church on the way to school where we learned more about Lent and had ashes smeared on our foreheads in the form of a cross.
As I went about my day after that, seeing a few others with smudges on their foreheads, symbols of Christ, I couldn’t help but to think how easy it is to be a follower of Christ where I live. I don’t have to worry about my personal safety as I proclaim Christ. I don’t have to worry as I share His love and proclaim His love.
It’s not that way in so many other parts of the world.
Thank you, military families, for helping to make that possible. Thank you for guarding our freedom of religion.
And, of course, thank you to our Father for His eternal love and eternal gift. Easter is on its way!
