The chronological Bible in 90 days reading plan is here!

Through the years, several of you have asked me to host a Bible in 90 Days session, reading chronologically.

I have been hesitant to do so because reading chronologically is MUCH more challenging than reading cover to cover. When reading cover to cover, you just open your Bible and go for it. You don’t have to give much thought to the reading assignment for the day as you read… you just keep reading.

With a chronological plan, however, you have to flip back and forth between books, making the whole challenge that much more difficult.

However, since so many of you have already completed the challenge of reading cover to cover in 90 days, and since Melissa offered to develop the reading plan for us, I decided the time is right for offering a new 90 day plan,  one that follows the events of the Bible chronologically.

And Dana put it all together in a handy-dandy bookmark you can download, pop in your Bible, and track your reading.

If you have yet to read the entire Bible in 90 days, I strongly encourage you to use the Bible in 90 Days Cover to Cover Plan bookmark.

If you have already become a Bible in 90 Days graduate, and want to try something new, consider reading chronologically with us, using the Bible in 90 Days Chronological Plan bookmark. Both plans can be found on the Bible in 90 Days resource page.

I’d like to extend a HUGE  thank you to Melissa and Dana, who helped make this new plan a reality. If you are excited by the idea of a the chronological reading plan, please swing by their sites (whose links are above) and let them know.

If you’d like to read the Bible in 90 Days beginning Monday, August 20 with us, please visit the Bible in 90 Days sign up page.

So… which plan will you be following this time?

I know this is an old thread, but I’m not able to find the chronological reading guide, can someone please provide the link. I’m thinking about reading on my own.

  2. would love to start the 90 day plan with every one, but am thinking Id rather read it in chronological order since I’ve already read the original. I have a chronological bible, but need to figure out the break down as for how far to read each day.

    1. Each day’s reading assignment (for chronological and cover to cover) will be posted the night before on MomsToolbox, so you can check there. Also, I’ve posted downloadable bookmarks for week one and two so you can plan ahead. As we get thought the weeks, more bookmarks will be uploaded, as well as the complete plan.

I think there might be an error on this chronological plan. Ps. 91 is on there twice (maybe that’s on purpose?). But it also looks like 2 Samuel chapters 1-7 are missing. It goes from 1 Samuel 24-31, Ps. 34, 56 and then 2 Sam. 8:1-14. I can’t find 2 Samuel chapters 1-7 on the list.

I am very excited as well! Praying for steadfastness and to complete In Jesus Name!

  8. I’m probably getting ahead of myself (and everyone else) with this question, but is the New Testament section of “You are Here in the Bible” available anywhere online? I printed the Old Testament and put it in a binder so I can use it along with the reading plan. I’m really looking forward to starting – the first time I tried to read the Bible from cover-to-cover I got a bacterial infection when I was almost finished. The second time I tried, I got a staph infection. I’ve loaded up on vitamin C so nothing is going to stop me this time! Thank you for all of the work you and your volunteers have done!

  9. This is going to be a great session and I’m praying for group leaders and readers as we begin. Dennis Rainey posted today on FB, “I will walk within my house in the integrity of my heart. I will set no worthless thing before my eyes. (Ps. 101:2–3) Name some things you and your family could do with the TV off for a month. If this has struck you as something you should do, ask God for the courage and self-control to see it through.”

I would like to add to his post by praying that we each have the courage and self-control to see this through and that we easily find the 30-45 minutes each day for 90 days to read His Word.

  10. This is REALLY exciting! :) I just sent the pdf to my parents, as well!
    Nice work, and THANK YOU!!

  11. After reading and mentoring several times I’m excited about another session and the new plan. I plan to mentor again AND read the new chronological plan. I can’t wait to get started.

I loved completing it last year! I was thinking of signing up again but now I am definitely going to do the chrono plan! I’m up for the challenge…again! Thank you so much for hosting and to the mentors who give of their time to encourage us to the finish line!
