Scripture: Psalm 146:3-4
3Do not put your trust in princes,
in mortal men, who cannot save.
4When their spirit departs, they return to the ground,
on that very day their plans come to nothing.
Psalm 146:10
The Lord reigns forever,
your God, O Zion, for all generations.
Praise the Lord.
Observation: God, alone, is the eternal ruler. The authority of worldly rulers is just that: in this world alone.
Application: Go to the Lord alone for guidance. Trust in him and worship him.
Prayer: Thank you, Lord, for this reminder to keep an eternal perspective. You alone have eternal authority and you alone can tend to all of our true needs. Thank you, Lord, for having the power to do all that… and for caring for each of us individually forever.
