Would you like to join me in praying for our husbands at Noon every day?
Not too long ago I finished reading and praying through The Power of a Praying Wife with a group of ladies. While reading the book and posting about it, I received quite a few comments and emails from other women who had either read the book and thought they might pull it out again or had never read it but intended to read it.
All the stir made me, and the ladies with whom I was discussing it, think about how we could keep what we learned in the book fresh even after we finished it.
We really liked what Stormie Omartian pointed out in each chapter of the book, but we knew that re-reading it right away wouldn’t realistically happen.
So we decided to take another route and I’m inviting you to join us.
Each day we are going to pray for a different element of our husband’s life, following the schedule of chapters in the book.
If you haven’t read it, I would highly recommend getting your hands on a copy and reading, praying and studying through the entire text. It is rich with scripture and applications of scripture and I learned quite a lot from it.
Also each chapter has a beautifully crafted prayer about each topic, and the prayer is also filled with scripture, along with ways to tailor the prayer to your husband.
Our group decided that we would continue just by praying the prayer in the appropriate chapter each day and then go from there. Then we’ll meet once a month to discuss how it is going. I’ll try to fill you in on our meetings and see how it is going for anyone out there in the blogosphere that would like to join us.
(Our first meeting is October 6, so check back soon after that to report on your own experiences and read how ours are going.)
Up at the top I invited you to join me in prayer at Noon. That’s when I’m going to do it. I already have my phone set to chime at Noon to remind me to stop and say the Lord’s Prayer. Now I’m going to add the daily prayer for my husband at that time, too.
If you don’t have a copy of the book, like I said, I highly recommend it.
