Good morning, sweet friends!
It feels like forever since I’ve written here, even if it has only been since the start of the month. I DO miss our weekly check-ins, but I also needed a bit of a break. I’ve been soaking in the Proverbs and hope you are enjoying the Proverb a Day reading schedule this month, too.
New Testament in 40 Days… together
Once that ends this week, I thought we would take a few days to review what we have been reading, fully experience Easter, and then start fresh this coming Monday, April 5, with a 40-day read through the New Testament together.
I’ll post the reading schedule weekly here every Monday morning, so you can join in with me, and I’ll even post a few thoughts as we read together.
If you would like to share your thoughts each week in the comments, I would love to hear from you, but feel no pressure. The most important thing is that you read the Word and listen to what the Holy Spirit is sharing with you each time you do read and make time to listen.
No Judgement. Just reading
I want to be clear that this is a no judgement zone. The goal here is reading and listening. Each of us will be coming to the New Testament from different perspectives and experiences. Let’s honor that as we welcome all to read with us. I want everyone to feel safe posting questions and observations and I look forward to reading everyone’s thoughts.
Jesus, when you really dig in and when you just see the surface, did so many things that were VERY unorthodox. He loved all. He listened to those that were often overlooked. He showed grace and love and mercy and he encouraged others to do the same. And He extends grace and love and mercy to all today. And this was all REALLY different for the day.
20 minutes out of 1440
I do hope you’ll join me starting next Monday. The reading will probably take about 20 minutes of your day. More if you journal and pray along with the reading. It is my prayer that those 20 minutes will impact the other 1420 minutes of each day for the 40 days we read together and beyond, whether it will be your first time reading the New Testament, or your 400th time. I have no doubt He will use that time and effort well for you.
You in?
So. What do you think? Will you join me? And better yet, will you invite 2 others to join you as you join me, too? He tells us in Matthew 18:20 that when 2 or 3 are gathered together in His name, He will be in their midst. Let’s read in His name. Let’s invite Him in. Let’s gather together, albeit virtually and at different times, and spur each other on to good things, in His name.
You in? I hope to see ya here Monday!
In Love,
