Hello there, my Bible 180 friends. For those of you who are early morning readers, thank you for your patience as I am posting a bit later than typical. I regret keeping you waiting and will be back on an earlier track next week.
I’m looking forward to reading Esther again this week.
Esther is one of my Biblical heroes. She is strong, wise and also follows the instruction of her cousin and the rules set forth by the King. In so many places, it is thought that a strong women is not one who follows the instruction of another. I find her example to be a beautiful one.
After Esther, we will head into 4 days of Job, finishing it up next week. For me, Job is hard to read, hard to digest. Each time I read it I confess I am puzzled at so much. I read bits and often go back so I can be sure to get what I should be from the reading. I’ll be praying for wisdom for all of us as we read this week so that we can truly hear the Holy Spirit guiding us.
Habits and routine of reading
I do hope that reading the Bible daily has become very much a part of your life by now. Last week I found that some days I wanted to journal a lot while reading, pulling verses to record for later, and some days I just wanted to read, leaving my journal pages empty. Rather than force one habit or another, I focused on the reading and praying as a priority and let the journaling ebb and flow.
I set up a habit to follow in reading this time that most days worked, yet I gave myself permission to release that habit when it wasn’t working, rather than force it. In previous readings, I would set up a habit and not allow myself to deviate. This time, I am, provided the reading happens.
I wonder if any of you have felt something similar. Are you reading the same way each day? Are you following the same routine daily, or have you mixed it up? I’d love to know what you are experiencing. Please let us know in the comments as your check in this week.
I’ve kept you waiting on this week’s schedule long enough. Are you ready to jump in?
Week 11 Reading Schedule
As always, thank you for reading with me. I am so glad you are here.
In love,
Amy
