Week 3 in the New Testament: John to Acts

Good morning, sweet friends! Thanks for joining me as we read through the New Testament together. I do hope you are enjoying our time in the Gospels. This week we wrap up John and start in Acts.

Acts, believed to be written by Luke, is a great transitional book between the Gospel accounts of Jesus’ life on earth and His resurrection to the growing of the Christian church. I found this list of 15 Interesting Facts about the Book of Acts by the people of The Jesus Film Project. Pop over if you’d like a quick preview.

As I mentioned, I do hope your reading is going well. This past weekend held some big travel for me. I took my son, daughter and mother-in-law to visit the college my son will be attending in the fall, Cornell College in Iowa. We had a WONDERFUL time exploring the campus and the town that houses it, Mount Vernon, Iowa.

Sticking to a Bible reading plan while away, and while sharing a hotel room, can be a challenge. I am happy to report I kept it going. The first morning I woke up before the others, changed into workout gear, grabbed my Bible and read on the floor in the hotel gym before working out. The second morning was a lazier morning, so I just read in bed– which might have been a bit TOO soothing.

When do you typically read each day? How is it going for you? I’d love to know. Please share in the comments, as you might inspire someone who is having trouble fitting in the reading time in the right spot.

However and whenever you read, I am glad you are reading with me, and with our little group. Every word we read, and every moment we spend in the Word, brings truth. I hope you are finding solace, direction and most of all love. Thanks for joining me.

And on to week 3…
