Reading the Bible in 90 Days is quite a commitment. One secret to many readers’ success is accountability– that’s actually a big part of the official program.
In the past, those who have read with me on MomsToolbox have been placed in accountability groups with mentors. This session I’ve asked everyone to find 2 partners to hold each other accountable, making groups of three, instead. I find that when there are just two, it’s easier to let someone off the hook for not reading, whereas with three, the determination is stronger.
So, now that we are on Day Two, have you secured two accountability partners yet? They may be what keeps you going in a few days or a few weeks when it just gets super hard to fit reading in your schedule or when you need a personal friend to encourage you and pray for you as you get caught up after missing a few days and want to throw in the towel and give up.
If you haven’t found your partners yet, and if you haven’t shared your commitment with him or her, then you are operating at a disadvantage. Find two people and tell each other why you are reading. Tell them that you are determined to live this practice for 90 days, reading the Bible each and every day and that you WILL make up reading that is not completed on time. Ask your partners to hold your feet to the fire NO MATER WHAT so that you finish this challenge and gain what God has in store for you.
It’s gonna get tough. It’s likely there will be days you want to stop. Your accountability partners will keep you on track when you need them– but only if you have them.
So… Who are your accountability partners? Please let me know in the comments. If you are receiving this blog post in your email inbox, please click here to leave a comment on the post.
Thanks for reading with me. I’m thrilled that we are reading together. Together, we can do this and we will be amazed.
